Top Tips for Safe Plumbing

Plumbing is an important and sometimes difficult job which involves installing and maintaining drains, pipes, fixtures and fittings for heating, washing and drinking water. While anyone can take on basic plumbing jobs, there are some jobs that should only be handled by experts.  For example, anything that involves hot water should be managed carefully, and any work involving the mains water supply should be thought of carefully as well.

If your water pipes leak, then the resulting damp can be a serious health hazard, and if any mains electrical wiring gets wet then this can be a fire hazard or a hazard to personal safety. Do not take risks with this - if you need to do anything beyond working with basic taps and small pipes in the bathroom, let an expert do it for you. Even when  performing basic plumbing repair Austin tasks, make sure that you turn off the water supply at the mains, to reduce the risk of a serious leak. In addition, if you are working with drinking water make sure that the pipes are safe and do not contain lead or any other contaminants which would make the water unsafe for human consumption.
